William H. “Bill” Oppy, 71, of Wilmington, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
 
He was born in Hillsboro on June 3, 1940, the son of the late Arthur H. Oppy and Mary (Holt) Buchholz.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Andrew Oppy and one sister, Mildred Oppy.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Hall) Oppy of Wilmington; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony “Tony” and Marsha Oppy of Dayton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Tim Kinser of Xenia and Michelle and Bob Tadlock of Sabina; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jasper and Doris Oppy of Hillsboro, Wayne and Lavina Oppy of Hillsboro, Kenny Oppy of West Milton and Arthur Carroll and Karen Oppy of Rittman; two sisters and brother-in-law, Violet Niblick of Palm Bay, Fla. and Betty and Jim Jacobs of Centerville; one stepbrother and wife, William & Phyllis Buchholz, Jr. of Palm Bay, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 3-5 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The family will be gathering at the Rocky Fork Lake Activity Center.
