William D. Holcomb, 75, of Edgewood, Ky., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Ky.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1937 in Knox City, Texas, the son of, Truman and Mary Virginia (Jeffcoat) Holcomb.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired commercial construction manager.

He is survived by his wife, Sue (Royse) Holcomb, whom he married on June 1, 1988; four daughters, Cindy Terry, Shannon (Hershel) Reid, Shelly Holcomb (Cole) Britten and Kelly Campbell; two sons, William David Holcomb II and Russell (Maria) Campbell; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son and both parents.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Terry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites to be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service, with Veterans Appreciation service to begin at 1 p.m.
