William D. "Bill" Egbert, 84, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, July 30, 2011.
Bill was born Oct. 14, 1926 in Lucasville, the son of the late Daniel and Mary Hazel (Colegrove) Egbert.
Bill was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ. He retired in 1975 after 30 years of service from the Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a life member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1700. Bill enjoyed his farm and raising beef cattle.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Misty Egbert of Hillsboro, Donald and Louise Egbert of West Alexandria, Danny and Kim Egbert of Beavercreek, one daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Mark Kopchak of Beavercreek, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma J. (Green) Egbert, on Jan. 6, 2011; one daughter, Jodell Grewe; one son, Ralph Egbert; three sisters, Loretta Veazey, Norma Williams and Rosemary Egbert; and two brothers, Ralph Egbert and Earl Egbert.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Tom Stoops will officiate with burial to follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
