Willard L. Kellis, 81, of Greenfield, died at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at Edgewood Manor, Greenfield.

He was born June 28, 1931 in Greenfield, the son of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Bennett Kellis.

Willard was one of 15 children of Floyd and Elizabeth Kellis. He was a 1949 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. He retired as project supervisor with the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1997 following 16 years of service. Before working at ODOT, he worked at the U.S. Shoe Factory in Greenfield, the Armco Building Products and was an agent with Metropolitan Life for 13 years. He was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ, where he had been an elder and deacon. He was a member of Greenfield Eagles, Greenfield Masonic Lodge 318 and Leesburg Masonic Lodge 78. His true passion in life was the time he spent officiating high school football, basketball and baseball games across the state of Ohio.

He is survived by three sons, Thomas Kellis of San Francisco, Calif., Mark (Jodi) Kellis of Florence, S.C. and David (Kathy) Kellis of Greenfield; and three grandchildren, Drew and Devin Kellis and Kaitlin Kellis.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend a graveside service on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Greenfield Cemetery with Bill Requardt officiating. Calling hours will be held at the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
