Wayland W. Barker, 77, of Peebles, died on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.

He was born in Pike County on Sept. 6, 1935, the son of the late Elmer W. and Pearlie E. (Lambert) Barker.

He was a truck driver and logger and was a Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife Mary P. (Turner) Barker, whom he married on Jan. 28, 1961; two sons, Rick Barker of Piketon and Mike (Candi) Barker of Latham; five daughters, Linda McLeod of Sinking Spring, Kathy Phillips of Piketon, Pam (Greg) Gilmore of Killeen, Texas, Debbie (Wayne) Scharbrough of Piketon and Tammy (Dusty) Coyle of New Boston; three sisters, Nyoka Davis of Peebles, Grace Barker of Peebles and Wilma Crabtree of Peebles; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.

Burial will be at Cedar Chapel Cemetery in Sinking Spring.

Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. till time of service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
