Virginia Mae Grimsley, 82, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Adena Greenfield Area Medical Center.

She was born on April 1, 1930 in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of, Carl and Julia (East) Matthews.

She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James Grimsley, whom she married on Dec. 28, 1957; twin son and daughter, Mark (Lisa) Grimsley and Michele Grimsley both of Greenfield; two step-daughters, Joan (Paul) Buehlman of New York, Julie Baxla of Greenfield; two step-sons, James (Vickie) Grimsley, John (Jo) Grimsley both of Kentucky; grandchildren, Kullia Grimsley, James Looney, Jessica Woods, Miles Baxla, Amber, Lori, Hunter, Brian Riley, Wade Grimsley, Rob, Mike, Chrissy Grimsley, Mindy, Rhonda and Shelly Bonfield; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Jury of Greenfield, Elaine (Howard) Easter of Leesburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Matthews; one sister-in-law, Helen Matthews and both parents.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in Gilboa Cemetery near New Petersburg.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
