Virginia Hill Carey Shoemaker passed away at Highland House on Easter
Sunday, April 4,2010.
She was born near Rainsboro, on May 28,1914, one of three children of the late Carl and Georgia (Bashore) Hill. She has two children born to her union with James D. Carey: James Donald (Diana) Carey and Patricia Ann (Jack) Walker of Hillsboro. Grandchildren are: Dow (Meggan) Walker, Jay (Jennifer) Walker, Tobi Glenner, Tammy (Jeremy) Harrison, Janice (Jeff) Rulon, and six great-grandchildren.
Virginia was married to three wonderful husbands: James Carey for 25 years, Donald Ludwick for 25 years, and Murven Shoemaker for 8 years.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Louise (Harold) Harmount, and preceded in death by a brother Forrest Hill.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with John Porter officiating. Burial will be at the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley, 215 Hughes Blvd., Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154 or the Highland County Senior Citizens.
