Venus D. Hancock Jackson, 78, of Wilmington, died Friday morning, Oct. 7, 2011 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late John and Madge (Day) Hancock.

She is survived by three children, Janice Jackson of Cincinnati, Sherman Jackson, Jr. of Middletown and Manuel Jackson of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Henry Hancock, John Ervin Hancock, and Harold Day; and four sisters, Jennie Glenn, Christine Turner, Edith Rockhold and Lula Mae Woody.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Mike Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
