Velma L. Helterbrand, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Health & Care Center in Greenfield.

She was born in Sinking Spring on Dec. 13, 1938 the daughter of the late William Donald and Myrtle Mae (Reno) Helterbrand.

She was a member of the Rainsboro Church of Christ in Christain Union and had worked many years for G.C. Murphy's, Haines Department Store and Sundry's and More in Hillsboro.

She is survived by one brother & sister-in-law, Philip and Judy Helterbrand of Fostoria; four sisters & brother-in-law, Sharon Bobb of Winchester, Ruby & Bradley Bourne of Hillsboro, Pat Sheppard of Sinking Spring, Betty Lou Robinson of Lebanon and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union with Don Sparks and Wayne Barker co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
