Thomas LeRoy Dale, 60, of Wilmington died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

He was born April 16, 1952 in Xenia, the son of the late Herman and Edith Chenowith Dale.

His necessaries are embarked: farewell. The world has lost a good man on Nov. 12, 2012, he will be missed.

Thomas was an avid outdoorsman. Before his retirement, he was a precision machinist, a trade that he passed down to his son, Nathan.

He was a kind, optimistic man who would help anyone that was in need. He always accepted the faults in himself and others. He did not attempt to change others, but made them want to better themselves with his positive attitude and personality. We will meet again in the clearing at the end of the path.

He is survived by two children, Michelle Burge of Jamestown, and Nathan Dale of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chelsea Burge and Michael Burge of Wilmington, Morgan Dale of Sabina, and Tyler Boldman, Jeremy Boldman, and Jacob Boldman, all of Wilmington; brothers John Dale and Bud Dale of Wilmington; and countless cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Edith Chenowith Dale; and his aunt, Jay Shepard.

Visitation and services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
