Thomas L. Beekman, Sr., 57, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at his home. 

He was born Aug. 18, 1954 in Cincinnati, the son of Elijah and Minnie Jackson Beekman. 

He is survived by his mother, Minnie M. Beekman of Ft. Mitchell, Ky.; children, Thomas (Tammy) Beekman, Jr. of Vinton, Ohio, Brian (Wendy) Beekman of Hillsboro and Erik (Amanda) Beekman of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Judy Spencer of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Rosie Murphy of Covington, Ky., Nancy Powell of Ft. Mitchell, Clara Morgan of Covington and Betty (Denny) Estle of Wilmington; two brothers, Robert Beekman of Homer, N.Y. and Leroy Beekman of Covington; ex-wife Cheryl Beekman of Cincinnati; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Elijah Beekman; two brothers, George Jackson and Jonny Beekman; granddaughter Maranda J. Beekman; and brothers-in-law Charlie Powell and James Spencer. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery at Fairview. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
