Thomas J. Ladd, 90, of the Rainsboro community, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Highland County on Jan. 11, 1923, the son of the late Vernon B. and Ruth (Sentman) Ladd.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna B. (Locke) Ladd, who died May 5, 2003; one brother, Jacob D. Ladd Sr.; one sister, Ruth Day; and a granddaughter, Tina Jones.

He retired from Bricklayers Association and served during World War II in the U.S. Army (Air Corps).

He was a life member of the Luther-Griffin American Legion Post 14 Bainbridge, life member of Hillsboro AMVETS Post 61 and life member the Greenfield F.O.E.

He is survived by his son, Tom (Loretta) Ladd, Jr. of Rainsboro; step-son, Damon Clark of London; five grandchildren, Jennell (Kenny) Hatmaker, Aaron (Shelley) Ladd, Ronna (Mark) Harris, John Lathey, and Rusty (Jackie) Clark; 11 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be at Rhoads Cemetery outside of Rainsboro.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 17 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Community Care Hospices or Ohio Veterans Home, Georgetown.
