Ted Harold Lechner, 78, of Hillsboro, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at The Laurels of Hillsboro.

He was born at Sedan, N.M. on Feb. 3, 1934, the son of the late George W. and Lelah Nina (Fudge) Lechner.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anneliese Emilie (Schmidt) Lechner on April 26, 2012; and one son, Thomas George Lechner.

He worked security at R&L, was a farmer and was a World War II veteran, retiring from the Army.

He is survived by six sons, Michael Lechner of New Mexico, Robert Wayne Lechner of Florida, Richard (Susan) Lechner of Maryland, James Lechner of New Vienna, Brian (Michelle) Lechner of Peebles, and Jeff (Carrie Ann) Lechner of Loveland; three daughters, Monica Fields of Blanchester, Susan Michaels of Wilmington, and Lori Rothwell of Peebles; one brother, Donald Lechner; three sisters, Ila Roach, Darlene Wann, Mary Lutes, and Georgia Dimintroff; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Greg Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery near Peebles.

Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
