Steven B. "Deac" Meyers, 54, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1957 in Greenfield, the son of Robert Charles and Iris Rose (Ruhe) Meyers.

He retired from Banta Publications in Greenfield. He was a member of St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield. He was a member of the VFW Post 4736, American Legion Post 568, and F.O.E. Aerie 1325. He was a 1975 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Boden) Meyers, whom he married June 10, 1989; one step-son, Tobin Charles (Lucy) White of Greenfield; two grandsons, Auston Murray and Alexander Charles White; mother, Iris Meyers of Greenfield; two brothers, Michael Robert (Patty) Meyers of Bainbridge; David Dean Meyers of Greenfield; two sisters, Linda Rose Meyers of Greenfield; Laurie Ann (Eric) Grow of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and two great-nephews; one sister-in-law, Ann (Darrell) Upp of Greenfield; two aunts, Buddy Evans of Greenville, Tenn.; Belva (Bill) Richey of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Mary Rose Meyers; brother-in-law, Jon Boden; and his father, Robert Meyers.

Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6 in Gilboa Cemetery with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
