Stephen Kelley, 62, of Seaman, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.

He was born in Cincinnati on April 25, 1949 the son of the late Byron and Almeda Sue (Stamper) Kelley.

 He attended Seaman United Methodist Church, he taught Sunday School Class, was known as Mr. Adams County Historian and wrote many books on Adams County; he was also a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, the Rev. Dr. Susan and the Rev. George Roads of Seaman; two nieces, Jo Ann and Terry Bach of Dayton and Peggy and Willis Sturdivant of Cincinnati; and many cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Seaman Community Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Susan Roads, the Rev. George Roads, the Rev. Ken Johnson, and the Rev. Steve Darby officiating.

 Military Rites will be given by the Adams County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5-9 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.

Memorials may be made to the Mission Fund at Seaman Community Methodist Church, 63 Broadway Street Seaman, Ohio 45679.
