Silas “Jr.” Collett, 78, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital.

He was born at Pineville, Ky., on July 21, 1934, the son of the late Silas and Bertha (Phillips) Collett Sr.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Collett.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda G. (Sturgill) Collett, whom he married on April 14, 1962; sons, Silas Collett III of Bainbridge, Fred (Lisa) Collett of Bainbridge, Charles (Barbara) Collett of Kentucky, Joshua Collett of Hillsboro, Jeffery Collett of Hillsboro and Jacky Collett of Marshall; daughter, Rhonda Collett of Belfast; brothers, Boyd Collett and John Collett both of Kentucly; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Thompson Funeral Home, with Billy Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from noon-2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
