Shirley M. Tong, 65, of Peebles, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at her residence.  

She was born May 14, 1947 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Lawrence Raymond Chaney and Sara Evelyn Holiday Chaney.

Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Tong of Peebles; daughters, Tamara (Tony) Penwell of Peebles and Michelle (Roger) Risner of Lucasville; sons, James (Autumn) Tong of Hillsboro and Thomas (Leah) Tong of Waverly; stepdaughter, Dorothy Shanks of Bainbridge; stepsons, Davey (Debbie) Tong of Peebles, Kenny (Tina) Tong of Peebles and Mark (Glenna) Tong; brothers, Larry David (Betty) Chaney of Hillsboro and Bill (Loraine) Chaney of Tucson, Ariz.; half sister, Ginger Collins of Hillsboro; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson, Owen James Tong; and a sister, Cherry Ann Leber.

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Fairview Church, 2029 Fairview Road, Peebles, OH 45660, on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 5 p.m. with Pastor Bob King officiating.
