Shirley Fillmore, 76, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at the Kettering Medical Center in Dayton.

She was born in Cleveland on March 31, 1935, the daughter of the late Edgar Lewis and Violet (McCormick) Eck.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Curtis Fillmore, Sr. on Jan. 1, 1987; two grandchildren, Scott Curtis Wilson and Tonya Lee Coonrod; and two brothers.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ and an avid supporter of the March of Dimes, American Cancer Association, Paralyzed Victims and the 700 Club.

She is survived by two sons, George Curtis (Nola) Fillmore, Jr. of Greenfield and Matthew Robert (Michelle) Fillmore of Fayetteville; six daughters, Betty (Richard) Wilson of Washington Court House, Geraldine C. Geese of Hillsboro, Diana Lee Fillmore of Chillicothe, Deborah M. (Mark) Mathews of Greenfield, Brenda (Roger) Cox of Hillsboro and Tina M. (Tim) Fawley of Lynchburg; two sisters, Dorothy and Susan; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Russell Lieb officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
