Shelby A. Hicks, 82, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at the Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born Aug. 31, 1930 in Clementsville, Ky., the son of the late Jonathan Henry Hicks and Myrtle Rodgers Hicks.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rash Hicks of Hillsboro, whom he married June 20, 1953; two sons, Stanley (Judy) Hicks of New Vienna and Steve (Barb) Hicks of Hillsboro; three daughters, Ramona Lovins of Summerset, Ky., Rita Cartwright-Pitzer of Lynchburg and Jennifer (Jason) Bradley of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Hicks of Casey County, Ky.
Graveside services will be held at Coss Cemetery, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Robbins officiating. The Highland County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
