Shawn Oliver Jackson, 38, of Greenfield, passed on to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at the Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
He was born March 3, 1973 in Cincinnati, to Sylvester Charles Jackson and Estella L. (Coleman) Jackson.
Coach Jackson was the McClain Tigers Head Coach for the boys soccer team, who were the SCOL League Champions for the past three years including the 2011 undefeated regular season team, who were also the sectional champions. Prior to coaching, he was employed as a vet tech at the Ross County Humane Society and was a warehouseman for DHL, Airborne Express and UPS.
He was a 1992 graduate of The Cincinnati Christian School and a longtime member of the Second Baptist Church of Hamilton. He had an infectious smile, and his love for life overflowed into everyone that he met. He had a deep love and interest in soccer, basketball, hunting, fishing and his dogs, which he shared and enjoyed with his children, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Latonya Joy (Paramore) Jackson, whom he married on April 16, 2010; children, Tyler, Chase, Cierra, Azariah and Joshua, all of Greenfield; father, Sylvester Charles Jackson of Lauderhill, Fla.; grandmother, Cleo Clay of Lauderhill, Fla.; two sisters, Krista (David McCoy) Toney of Greenfield and Karla (Cameron) Stephens of Columbus; two brothers, Christopher Jackson of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Phillip Jackson, Indianapolis, Ind.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; parents-in-law, Pastor Eugene J. and Linda Paramore of Reynoldsburg; and one sister-in-law, Sheree Paramore of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Estella Jackson; paternal grandfather, Charles O. Jackson; and maternal grandparents, Charles and Susie Coleman.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at the First United Methodist Church of Greenfield, with Rev. Donald and Rev. Ann Coleman officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, also at the church.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at the Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McClain Tigers Boosters Club, in care of Pat Stevens, 200 North Fifth Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
