Sharon R. DeBoer, 56, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at the Highland District Hospital.

She was born Oct. 4, 1954 in Georgetown to Clyde Roades Jr. and Carol E. (Smith) Church. Sharon fought a long, hard battle most of her life, worked for her sister Joyce at Creations and Wood for over 10 years, participated in “The Kidney Walk” in Dayton last year, loved God and everybody she came into contact with loved her.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Ray T. Church.

Sharon is survived by her husband, whom she married on July 23, 1976, Donald DeBoer of Hillsboro; two daughters, Lucinda and Andrew Gibson of Hillsboro and Heather and Tony Koehler of Hillsboro; two brothers, Jeff Church of Herriman, Utah and Andy Smith of Sandy, Utah; two sisters, Joyce McMillen of Dayton and Tammy Roades; five grandchildren, Drew (Brooke) Gibson, Jessica Libby, Heidi Koehler, Mary Koehler, and Sharol Koehler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Father Mike Paraniuk and Rev. Gibson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Fincastle Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. till time of service at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
