Ruth Esther Siemsen, 88, of Lebanon, formerly of Kankakee, Ill., passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon.
She was born Jan. 9, 1924 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Charles and Hattie Elizabeth (Moore) Shaw.
She attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Kankakee, Ill. She was retired from Kroehler Furniture Company in Kankakee, Ill, where she was a seamstress.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Kurt (Penny) Splenard, Harold Splenard, Portia Splenard McCallun, Sharon (Ginger) Splenard, Robert (Leona) Knisley, Toni (David) Welch, Dennis (Vickie) Knisley, Peggy Knisley McDaniel, Susan Knisley, Vicki Moyer Coil, Paul (Jeanne) Moyer, Dean (Yvonne) Moyer, Stephen (Debbie) Moyer, Ruthie Moyer and Mary McCarthy; two stepbrothers, Harvey (Charlene) Watkins and Tommy (Joyce) Watkins; and stepsister-in-law, Elizabeth Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Siemsen on April 10, 2004, to whom she had been married for 56 years; her twin sisters, Lucille Knisley and Louella Moyer; two stepbrothers, Donny and Jerry Watkins; and both parents.
Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Craig Knisley officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
