Ruth A. Bryant, 91, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at Hearth & Care, Greenfield, following a four-month illness.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1919 near Austin, Ohio, the daughter of the late Noah and Eliza Margaret O'Brien Harper.

On Aug. 23, 1941, she married Ralph Bryant, who preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by three children, Margaret (James) Block of Greenfield, Wayne (Connie) Bryant of Frankfort and Linda (Wallace) Ward of London; eight grandchildren, Sandy Zickafoose, Debby Fink, Marsha Lutz, Kimberly Palm, Sheryl Sever, Nikki Bryant, Brandi Ackley, and Anna Ernst; nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary Ward; and one sister, Ollie Houck.

She was a 1938 graduate of Frankfort High School and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church for more than sixty years, where she had been a member of the Austin Women's Society for more than fifty years. She was member of the Pisgah Friendship Circle and the Highland County Senior Citizens.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Greenfield (formerly Anderson-Strueve) with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where her eight granddaughters will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
