Rosemary Saunders Barnhart
Rosemary Saunders Barnhart, 74, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the University Of Cincinnati Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1938 in Corbin, Ky., the daughter of the late Raymond and Dessie McKeehan Carter.
Mrs. Barnhart had retired as a nursing assistant from the Highland District Hospital. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of God, the Dogwood Twig and the Highland County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Barnhart whom she had married on Nov. 12, 1995; five daughters, Pam (Bobby) Head of Ludowici, Ga., Belinda Nash of Jesup, Ga., Lisa (Alvin) Estep of Germantown, Ky., Cathy Brown of Hillsboro and Dreama (Jason) Klaiber of Lineville, Iowa; two stepchildren, James (Mary Lou) Barnhart of Greenfield and Pat (Richard) Smith of Bainbridge; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, David (Elizabeth Doolan) Carter of West Lafayette, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Eugene Saunders, Sr., on March 18, 1994; one son, Gilbert Eugene Saunders, Jr.; and one grandson, Jody Brown.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 23 at the Hillsboro Church of God. Pastor Dan Hess will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
