Ronald W. Knisley, 74, of Bainbridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 30, 1936 in Ross County, to Arthur and Anna Blanche (Sharon) Knisley.
He was retired from Steelox Systems of Washington C.H., formerly known as Armco Steel, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1325 of Greenfield, and was a 1955 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by three daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Rhodes, Frankfort, KY, Rae (Dewey Stephens) Knisley, Chillicothe, Pamela (Gary) Dearth, Peebles; one son, James Penwell, Washington C.H.; one step daughter, Carol Seitz, Leesburg; one step son, Wayne Mustard, Washington C.H.; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Sally) Knisley, Winder, GA, Rex (Mary) Knisley, Frankfort, Gary (Linda) Knisley, Greenfield; two sisters, Janet (Gordon) Watson, Greenfield, Rita (Jim) Putney, New Martinsburg; mother, Anna Blanche Knisley, Greenfield; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Keith Carter, San Antonio, Texas, Phil Williams, New Martinsburg, Willy Scharenberg, Bainbridge; and his pet companions, Izzy, Deuce, and Meow.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty R. Knisley on August 13, 1999; one son, Larry Dean Penwell; two grandsons; one brother, Roger Knisley; and his father.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, with Rev. Charles Maddy, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m.Sunday, at the funeral home, with Veterans Appreciation services to be held at 5 p.m.
