Romaine Crusie Blazer, 99, formerly of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at The Peaks Care Center in Longmont, Colo.
She was born Aug. 2, 1912 in Ross County, the daughter of Austin and Mary (Bennett) Crusie.
She grew up on the family farm near South Salem and graduated from Buckskin High School and from Office Training School in Columbus. Romaine married Raymond "Del" Blazer in Greenfield on Aug. 24, 1934, and they enjoyed 62 years together until his passing in 1996. She has been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield since 1934. She retired from work in 1975 after many years in the Greenfield dental office of Dr. Jack Weinrich.
Romaine is survived by one daughter, Joyce (Paul) Rieger of Boulder, Colo.; one grandson, Christopher (Crystal) Rieger of Longmont, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Samuel Rieger; and one brother, Robert (Marian) Crusie of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Richard and Eugene Crusie.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with longtime friend of the family Steve Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, 457 Jefferson St., Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
