Roger E. Walker
Roger E. Walker, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
He was born Nov. 6, 1923 in Highland County, the son of the late Jesse Warren Walker and Rachel Catherine Reno Walker.
He was a member of Sonner's Chapel United Methodist Church and had worked for the Highland County Highway Department for 25 years.
Surviving are three sons, Ray A. (Jolene) Walker of Hillsboro, Lynn (Cheryl) Walker of Hillsboro, and Eddy (Jeanie) Walker of Kentucky; two daughters, Bonnie (John) Setty of Hillsboro, and Pamela Davis of Cincinnati. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tracy Watson of Florida, Brian Setty of Hillsboro, Rachel Campbell of Sardinia, Holly Combs of Hillsboro and Zachary Walker of Greenfield; eight great-grandchildren, Alexa Watson, Paige Walker, Aubri Delong, Levi Combs, Shianne Combs, Dominick Campbell, Cole Walker and Sydnee Walker; two step-grandchildren, Natasha Doughman and Shawn Miller; and four step-great-grandchildren, Draiden Doughman, Shylar Doughman, Gavin Miller and Addley Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy I. Temple Walker, who died July 28, 2005; three brothers, Robert, John and Donald Walker; and two sisters, Ruby Reed and Velma Fenner.
Services will be held at Sonner's Chapel United Methodist Church, at noon Thursday, Sept 13 with the Rev. Derek E. Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Wednesday, Sept.12 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
