Robert D. “Rob” Maxwell, 45, of Wilmington, died Friday morning, Sept. 21, 2012 at the Miami Valley Hospital.

He was born Feb. 23, 1967, in West Union, the son of the late Robert Wesley Maxwell.

He was a master auto mechanic and thoroughly enjoyed his work. He was also a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

On March 7, 1992, in Sugar Tree Ridge, he married his wife of 20 years, Sharon (Gragg) Maxwell, and she survives.

He is also survived by five children, Robert “Bobby” Maxwell and his wife Ashlee of Wilmington, Austin Maxwell and his wife Desirae of New Vienna and Felicia Mountjoy and her husband Shane, Stephanie Maxwell and Melodie Maxwell, all of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Teresa Miner) Maxwell of Middlegrove, N.Y.; a special aunt, Phyllis Burba of Hillsboro; and other aunts and uncles.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James A. Maxwell.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Allen Willoughby will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
