Richard E. "Dick" Perry, 81, of Hillsboro, died at 12:13 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

He was born on Aug. 28, 1931 in Nashport, Ohio, the son of the late Durward and Iva Taylor Perry.

Dick served in the United States Navy and had worked for Waddell Company in Greenfield.

On Dec. 1, 1955, he married the former Marilyn J. Ward, who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2008.

He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth (Glenn) Chaney of Jackson; niece, Cathy (Art) Setty of Oakland, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Renate Ward of South Salem and Margie (Ralph) Yochum of Hillsboro; brothers-in-law, Donnie Ward of Frankfort and Phil (Kathy) Ward of South Salem; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by one stillborn son, William Edwin Perry; and one sister, Mickey Diane Perry.

In accordance with Dick's wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield, Ohio.
