Richard Carl Van Hook

Richard Carl Van Hook, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 19, 2024 at his home. 
 
He was born May 16, 1951 in Shelby County, the son of Carl Garner and Mary Rachael (Phelps) Van Hook.
 
Richard was an avid outdoorsman, where he loved to camp and take his son fishing. He loved his animals dearly.
 
Surviving are his loving life partner of 30-plus years, Bonnie Kihnley; son, Arnell Johnson; two daughters, Robyn Van Hook Mueller and Jennell Johnson; six grandchildren: Jordan, Alicia, Jerrod, Jayden, Rayanna and Rayahanna; and two brothers, Mike and Steve Van Hook.
 
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his four brothers, Phillip, Joel, Tim and an infant brother.
 
No services will be held at this time.

Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
 
Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
