Patsy Bernice (Walker) Pfister, 98, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 8, 2012 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 17, 1914 in Midland, the daughter of the late Estel and Maude (Whitaker) Walker.

She had worked for several years at Wilmington College, was a 4-H instructor and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed working puzzles and crosswords.

She is survived by three children, Brenda J. Patten of Niceville, Fla., Lucille Cloud and her husband Dave of Clarksville and Florence Manning and her husband Wayne of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Todd (Jean Ann) Cloud and Scott (Cathy) Cloud, both of Clarksville, Rena Patten and John (Tracy) Patten, both of Niceville, Fla., Kimberly (Russ) Conklin of Columbus and Deb Matthews of Perry, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren, Derek Cloud, Allison Cloud, Jessica (Brad) Wiley, Aaron Patten, Camden Vinup, Kendall Cloud, Cara Vinup and Kristin Matthews; and a great-great-grandchild, Peyton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pfister, in 1964; a grandson, Chad Gilbert; a son-in-law, Thomas E. Patten; four sisters, Elsie Gilbert, Ethel Shull, Evelyn Edwards and Vivian Morris; and two brothers, Carl Walker and Frank Walker.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Dale McCamish will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
