Norma Jean Hobble
Norma Jean Hobble, 86, of Leesburg (the Samantha community), died Friday, June 29, 2012 at her home.
She was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Washington Court House, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ethel Sanders Manifold.
Mrs. Hobble had been a remedial reading teacher for many years in the New Albany-Corydon Pike Schools in Indiana.
She was a member of the Leesburg Friends Church.
She is survived by four sons, Gary (Dorothy) Hurley of Dayton, William H. (Elaine) Hobble of Indianapolis, Ind., Edward Hobble of Leesburg and Michael (Rita) Hobble of Leesburg; nine grandchildren, Tracy (Tina) Hurley, Jennifer (Dink) Dennis, Cory Ann (Barry) Haley, Jordan (Joanna) Hobble, Russell Hobble, Adam Hobble, Todd Jimmerson, Tacy (Matthew) Brown and Amy (Eddie) Rickman; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Lee (Joe) Davis of Lancaster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. “Red” Hobble, on Jan. 24, 2009; and one brother, Earl Manifold.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 6 at the Leesburg Friends Church. Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will follow in the High Top Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, July 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Leesburg Friends Church.
