Noreen K. Boris Nordman, 54, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Hillsboro, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at her home in El Paso with her children and sister by her side.
She was born April 5, 1957 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Robert N. and Barbara Keyford Boris.
She had been a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and attended while visiting Hillsboro. Noreen was a 1975 graduate of Hillsboro High School; she earned her bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and archeology from University of Texas at El Paso, and was pursuing her master’s degree in business and human resources. Among her many interests was floral arranging.
Noreen was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her mother Barbara Boris of Hillsboro; children, Jonah Nordman and Gabrielle (James) Sye, both of Cameron, N.C. and Aaron Nordman of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren Rileigh Jordan Sye and Harper Malia Sye and Gavin Nordman; siblings, Robert (Cindy) Boris of Athens, Ala., Jennifer (Louis) Badgely of Newman, Ga., Martin (Angela) Boris of Hillsboro, Timothy (Linda) Boris of Hillsboro, David (Judy) Boris of Clarksville, Angelica (Jerry) Rowlands of Lynchburg and Michael (Becky) Boris of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert N. Boris; and her brother, Grant Boris.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. John Porter of the Hillsboro Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
