Nellie E. Ackley, 86, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1925 in Hillsboro, the daughter of George and Elsie (Frost) Nace.
She retired from Greenfield Research and was a graduate of Buford High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Jenny (Tim) Howland and Linda (Frank) Brown, both of Greenfield; two sons, Sam (Maggie) Ackley of Frankfort and Tom (Kathy) Ackley of Leesburg; 10 grandchildren, Rob (Cheryl) Ackley of Chillicothe, Sheryl Ackley of Columbus, Scott (Brandi) Ackley of Midway, Neil Ackley of Los Angles, Calif., Gail (Ryan) Vornholt of Columbus, Brad (Amy) Brown of Greenfield, Tracy Byington of Sandusky, Ron Sorrell II of Leesburg, Tiffany (Jarrod) Posey of Greenfield, Travis (Susan) Howland of Greenfield and Jenna (Ryan) Cox of Virginia; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Ackley on Nov. 7, 1993; one brother, Chester Nace; one sister, Margaret Nace; two grandchildren, Angela Brown and Tyler Howland; and both parents.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Bob Howland officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
