Nancy "Sis" Campbell
Nancy “Sis” Campbell, 100, of Greenfield, formerly of Hazard, Ky., passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1912 in Leatherwood, Ky., the daughter of Walter Nathaniel and Martha (Singleton) Campbell.
She was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of the Lothair Baptist Church of Lothair, Kentucky, and a member of the Women’s Fellowship within the church. She was a born-again Christian and gave her heart to God at the age of 8.
She was an avid University of Kentucky fan, "Jeopardy" fan, a history buff and loved to travel.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including her extended family, Ronnie (Mary) Cornett of Hillsboro, Talmadge (Lynda) Cornett of Greenfield, Ann (Phil) Willett of Greenfield, and Johnny (Geri) Cornett of Hamlet, N.C.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Corbin, Raymond, Creed, Orvis, Tyrus and Theopolis; three sisters, Leona Hamilton, Zola Warren and Nora Cornett; a nephew, Randall Cornett; and both parents.
Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, with the Rev. Richard Martin officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Carr Fork Memorial Cemetery of Litt Carr, Ky.
