Nancy Jean Fish

Nancy Jean Fish (nee Snapp), 86, died Dec. 14, 2009 at The Laurels, in Hillsboro, after a recent diagnosis of Myasthenia gravis.  
She was born in Covington, on Aug. 16, 1923, to William Paul and Esther Lurie (Leffel) Snapp of Miami County. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jean (Fish) Green of Hillsboro; a sister, Betty L Butler, of Sidney; a cousin, Hazel (Harvey) Higgins, of Troy; sisters-in-law, Lucille Jeanette (Fish) and husband, H.C. Logan of Westerley, R.I.,  Alice F. (Fish) Jackson of Springboro; brother-in-law, Samuel N. and wife, Barbara (Arnold) Fish of Springboro; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friends, the Norris children, Missie L. Norris, Lennie J. Norris, wife Julie, Kelly J. Norris, wife Lisa, Darcey G. Norris Garno, husband, Douglas, Ramie E Norris Wilson, husband Rocky and their extended families.

She was preceded in death by husband, John Henry Fish, Jr. in 1997; a son, James Earl Fish in 1958; her parents; brothers, Howard and wife, Deloris (Dee) Harmon, Snapp and Robert L  and wife, Arlene (Bare) Snapp, Eiteinne, her mother and father-in-law John H. Sr. and Rosa Martha (Heiss) Fish and John, Jr.’s siblings Rose Marie Fish, Charles Albert Fish, sister-in-laws Clara Mildred Fish, wife of Earl B. Adams and Anna Mae Fish, and husband, George M Greenup.  

She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church for many years in Englewood, Fla. She was valedictorian of the class of 1941 at Elizabeth High School, Miami County. She then attended Miami Jacobs School of business and went to work at Frigidaire. After marriage in 1946 she was a homemaker and partnered with John to build their homes. She was a bookkeeper and floor plan designer for their F&F Construction Co. 1953-1965.

There will be graveside services, at the family burial site in the

Springboro Cemetery in May.  Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Englewood, Fla. 34223; Muscular Dystrophy Association-WEB, P.O. The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
