Nancy Christine Beatty, 88, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

Nancy was born May 18, 1924 in Beech Grove, Tenn., the daughter of the late Monroe and Angie (Prater) Smithson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Theodore R. Beatty on Dec. 10, 1983; one sister, Opal Smithson; and one brother, Ray Smithson.

Nancy (Christine) Beatty was a member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member of the Highland County Senior Citizens for over 26 years.

She is survived by one son, two daughters and one son-in-law, Glenn Beatty of Hillsboro, Tammey Beatty of Elmendorf, Texas and Shirley and Larry Wilson of Sardinia; one brother, Willie Smithson of Woodbury, Tenn.; five sisters, Lucille Mears, Gertrude Morris, Viola Foster, Mary Grizzle of Woodbury, Tenn. and Rachel Johnson of Wichita, Kan..; three grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Wilson, Sherry (Josh) Hubbard and Angela Isner; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Fairfax United Methodist Church with Gary Hopkins officiating.

Friends may call on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at Fairfax United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Fairfax United Methodist Church or the Highland County Senior Citizens.
