Milford N. Caudill, 74, of Hillsboro, near the Carmel Community, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Care Center in Edgewood, Ky.
He was born July 18, 1937 in Ripley, the son of the late Jesse and Vennie Olive Wells Caudill.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. Milford retired from General Motors after 28 years of service and had served as a police officer in Franklin.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth A. Black Caudill, to whom he was married Nov. 2, 1959 in Maysville, Ky.; five daughters, Pamela Caudill Boger of Hillsboro, Judith L. Caudill of Hillsboro, Susan E. Caudill of Hillsboro, Jessica (Jamie) Caudill Stubbs of Wilmington and Deborah A. (Brad) Caudill Beer of Hillsboro; one son, Steven D. Caudill of Ft. Wright, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, Jamie Caudill, Maria Deffinger, Elizabeth Deffinger, Sarah Deffinger, Nicholas Glaser, Kelsey Oliver, Joey Oliver, Billy Oliver, Keya Montgomery, Mykal Montgomery, Ashtyn Montgomery, Charles Holcomb, Jamie Stubbs and Benjamin Beer; three great-grandchildren, Kingston Caudill, Ember Martin and Noble Culver; and one sister, Lana Stanforth of Pleasant Plain.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Donald Ray Caudill; and one brother, Lawrence Caudill.
Graveside funeral services conducted by Craig Walker, along with military honors accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard, will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
