Mildred "Billie" Hester, 85, of Granville, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.
She was born Mildred C. Wagner on July 22, 1926 in Greenfield, the daughter of Clyde Nelson Wagner and Olive Violet (Wagoner) Wagner, both of Cynthiana, Ky. She graduated in 1944 from Buckskin High School in South Salem. Billie, as most knew her, retired from the Granville IGA after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul E. Hester; a brother, Clyde M. Wagner, Jr.; a brother, Donald R. Wagner; and a sister, Martha Jean (Wagner) Caplinger.
She is survived by a son, Paul D. Hester and daughter-in-law Minnie M. (Crook Hester of Thornville; grandchildren Linda M. (Heaberlin) Bobo of Glenford, Nick A. Hester of Thornville, Beau O. Heaberlin and Danielle L. (Nethers) Heaberlin of Brownsville, and Amanda L. Hester of Heath; five great-grandchildren; sister Elizibeth (Wagner) Bartley of Greenfield; cousin Loriane Wright of Washington Court House; nephew-in-law Otis L. Hester and wife Susan of Texas; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and several close friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at South Salem Cemetery with the Rev. Timothy Mohon officiating. Friends may call at the Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home, Greenfield, 6-8 p.m. Monday.
