Michael L. Wilson
Michael L. Wilson, 68, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday morning, July 7, 2012.
He was born May 23, 1944, in Loveland, the son of the late Vernon and Mary Louise (Balton) Wilson.
He graduated from Morehead State University with degrees in both agriculture and history. He was inspector at both the county and state levels for the Ohio Department of Health for many years, but his true passions were farming, hunting and his love for the land. He was extremely concerned about the proper care of wildlife and their natural habitats. He was a long-time member of the Highland Beagle Club, as well as Pheasants Forever.
On June 4, 1966, in Morehead, he married his wife of 46 years, Martha (Wheat) Wilson, and she survives.
He is also survived by two children, Shannon Lee (Tom Woodrow) Wilson of Cincinnati and Joshua Ryan Wilson of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Shaun, Jess, Elliot and Mariella Wilson-Woodrow, all of Cincinnati; a sister, Debbie (Curt) Marshall of Xenia; a brother, Randy (Barb) Wilson of Lexington, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Billy Burkhart of Wilmington; and a special lifelong friend, Rancel (Shirley) Richards of Blanchester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shaun Wilson; two brothers, Terry Wilson and Greg Wilson; and two sisters, Joan Burkhart and Karen Wilson.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
