Michael Allen Payne, 45, of Jeffersonville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at home, after an eight-month battle with cancer.

He was born April 3, 1967 in Highland County, the son of Roger and Janet Ellen (Ford) Payne, Sr.

He was a member of the Bible Missionary Church of Wilmington, a former employee of Crysteco Inc. of Wilmington and was a 1987 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.

He is survived by two sons, Brandon Payne of Piketon and Braden Payne of Columbus; one daughter, Brandy Nichols of Piketon; one grandson; girlfriend, Angel Garcia of Jeffersonville; mother, Janet Ellen (Ford) Duvall of Onalaska, Texas; father, Roger (Fran) Payne, Sr. of Greenfield; one brother, Roger Payne, Jr. of Washington, C.H.; three sisters, Tammy (Kenneth) Plattenburg of Livingstone, Texas, Janet (Terry) Russell of Onalaska, Texas and Kathleen Payne of Onalaska, Texas; two half-sisters, Connie Soto of Hillsboro and Nicole Steward of Washington C.H.; one stepsister, Felicia (Grover) Scott of Greenfield; one stepbrother, Billy (Heather) Russell of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Ann Payne; and grandparents, Wilbur and Myrtle Ford and Adam H. and Icy Payne.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at the Bible Missionary Church, 243 Grant Street, Wilmington with Dr. Kurtis L. Summerville officiating with burial to follow at the Greenfield Cemetery at a later date.

There will be no visitation observed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses, in care of the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
