Mary L. “Pete” (Daugherty) Miller, 87, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 7, 1924 in Highland County, the daughter of Starley H. and Ollie Marie (Penwell) Daugherty.
She retired from the U.S. Shoe Corporation of Greenfield after 38 years of service and served as a Senior Companion for five and a half years. She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ and VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 4736.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Michael (Patricia Cassel) Miller of Greenfield and Timothy Joseph (Melissa) Miller of Washington C.H.; two granddaughters, Holly Renee (Johnathan) Knotts of Cincinnati and Chasity Louise Evans of Bloomingburg; one grandson, Corey Dean Miller of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five great-grandsons, Cole Alexander Evans, Elijah Knotts, Jax Knotts, Christopher Lee Evans III and Jaden; three great-granddaughters, Kelly Rose Evans, Haley Knotts and Zoe Knotts; one sister, Annabelle (Gerald) Haney of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lillian Clay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Miller, on Dec. 3, 1991; one granddaughter, Ashley Rose Miller; four brothers, Gerald “Ramrod”, Fred E., James H. and Joseph E. Daugherty; two sisters, Opal Virginia Daugherty and Hazel M. Pauley; and both parents.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Brother Dallas Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
