Mary Kathryn Ward, 87, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at her home.

She was born Sept. 25, 1924 in Jackson County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Julia Grace (Humphreys) Detty.

She was retired from Fayette Memorial Hospital after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Hillsboro Chapter #441 of Eastern Star.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Taylor of Mulberry, Fla., Kathy (Brink) Kline of Columbus and Kimberly Preston of Greenfield, Ohio; one son, Barry (Janet) Ward of Eaton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Shelly, Robert, Kathy, Corwin, Will, Alex and Liz; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Donna) Leach of Radcliff; three sisters, Rita Bishop of Wellston, Ellen Potts of Wellston and Roberta Reedy of Heath; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dano Preston; one brother, Sonny Leach; and both parents.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Todd Ernst officiating.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday with Eastern Star service to begin at 4 p.m.
