Mary Eleanor Arnott, 77, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at The Chapel Grove Inn in Heath.

She was born June 10, 1934 in New Market Township, the daughter of the late Oliver and Marmo (Bare) Harris.

Mary Eleanor was a member of the Fall Creek Friends Church, where she was the pianist and organist for 50 years.

On June 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gordon Arnott, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Doug Denton of Baltimore, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Jean Arnott of Powell, Ohio and Gerald and Janice Arnott of Granville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Brianne (Dan) Gladieux, Kendra Denton, Matthew Arnott, Beth (A.J.) McCampbell, Ashley (Rory) Barroquillo, Jared (Elisha) Arnott, Tyler Arnott and Rachel Arnott; one great-grandson, Ashton Barroquillo; two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane Smith of Greenfield and Patty and Danny Hoop of Sinking Spring, who Mary Eleanor and Gordon raised as a daughter.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with burial to follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
