Marvin E. Koons, 63, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1948 in Taneytown, Md., the son of the late Lester S. and Mary Belle Stonesifer Koons.
Marvin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Koons; children Daniel Glenn, Marvin Koons, Jr., Michael Lee Koons, Kimberly Rose Koons and Elizabeth Amber Koons; and grandchildren, Faith LeeAnn Koons, Tessa Lyn Koons, Marvin E. Koons III, Lily Belle Koons and Anthony Rock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Red Gallimore will officiate. Burial with military honors accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
