Martha Jane Powell, 85, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
She was born February 4, 1924 in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Alta (Graham) Gerlaugh.
She was a graduate of Xenia High School and was retired from Singer's Clothing of Xenia, where she served as manager. She was a volunteer at Greene Memorial Hospital after retirement.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Edie Collins, of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Jody Collins of Arkansas, Troy (Chastity) Wilson of Greenfield, and Lori Collins of Washington C.H.; six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Tricia, Klara, Sarah, Chandler, and Shira; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Powell; one son, Lee Collins; four sisters, Virginia, Anna, Nancy, and Emma Jean; and one brother, Bill.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at Greenfield Cemetery with Rev. Kirk Mootispaw officiating. There will be no visitation observed. The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
