Mark Wade Griffith, 49, of Wilmington, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital. 
He was born September 29, 1961 in Wilmington, the son of Toni E. and Jane Smithson Griffith. 
Mr. Griffith had worked in the construction industry. 
He is survived by his mother, Jane Shaw of Honey Grove, Texas; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Pfister of Hillsboro; one son, Jerrod Griffith of Sardinia; two grandchildren, Makenzie and Jaydin Griffith of Hillsboro; one sister, Melanie (David) Seaman of New Vienna; three brothers, Michael “Mick” Griffith of Lynchburg, Marty (Dana) Griffith of Honey Grove, Texas and Toni (Joyce) Griffith of Lynchburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Toni E. Griffith. 
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Daryl Mount will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
