Mark Douglas Ferrell, 48, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County.

He was born Oct. 21, 1963 in Hillsboro, the son of James Ferrell of Hillsboro and the late Karen Sue (Johnson) Ferrell.

Mark was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, a 1982 graduate of Hillsboro High School, a graduate of Kettering Medical School of Arts and was a field clinical engineer for St. Jude.

Besides his father, he is survived by two sons, Zachary Ferrell and Andrew Ferrell; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Tammy Ferrell of Leesburg, Jim and Karen Ferrell of Black Lick and Brian Ferrell of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Dr. Derek Russell will officiate with burial to follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials to the Hospice of Butler and Warren County, 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Franklin, Ohio 45005.
