M. Catherine Rhonemus, 84, of Lynchburg died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born Sept. 30, 1927 in Dodsonville, the daughter of the late Leo Scott and Ruthie Runyon Rhonemus.

She had worked for several years for the Luschek Implement Company in Lynchburg and Hillsboro. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, BLOOM, Lynchburg Historical Society and the Lynchburg Lions Club.

She is survived by one niece, Carolyn (Don) Shoemaker of Hillsboro; one nephew, Jeff (Angela) Rhonemus of Wilmington; one great-niece, Samantha Ann (Ramon) Ahrman of Xenia; one great-nephew, Jay Justin Runk of Hillsboro; one great-great-nephew, Connor Ahrman; one sister-in-law, Virginia Rhonemus of Lynchburg; and a special friend, D.J. Green of Lynchburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Dana Hertenstein; and one brother, Hugh Rhonemus.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. The Rev. Bob Skipper will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
