Loretta Ann Hamilton, 59, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her home.
She was born Dec. 28, 1952 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late LaJean and Geraldine Joiner Ford.
Mrs. Hamilton had worked for the Irwin Company in Wilmington and was also a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Hamilton, whom she married on July 1, 1989; one son, Nathan (Jacqueline) Ford of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Brandel Ford, Raeshawn Ford and Tyrese Ford, all of Wilmington; three sisters, Yvonne (Donald) Darling of Dayton, Barbara (Carlton) Greene of Hillsboro and Cathy (Jackie) Robinson Sr. of Wilmington; godchild, Monique Hamilton of Cincinnati; special friend, Sue Nooks of Wilmington; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Marie Ford; and two brothers, LaJean Ford, Jr. and Robert Ford.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Rev. Mike Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
